John Gifford

John Gifford has been working at REDCOM since 1993, beginning as a co-op in the Warranty department and then the Software Engineering team where he advanced to the level of senior engineer and product team lead for the REDCOM MSP, HDX, and SLICE products. While employed as a software engineer at REDCOM, John completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He later moved into an R&D role as REDCOM’s UC Solutions Strategist where he combined his knowledge of REDCOM products, understanding of the telecom industry, and experience in software and hardware design with the evaluation of new technologies to identify relevant applications of REDCOM products and opportunities for product evolution. 

After spending five years as the Manager of Hardware Engineering, John took his current role as the Director of Systems Engineering. As the Director of Systems Engineering, John is responsible for research and development, product strategy, and roadmap planning. He works closely with Business Development, the Director of Strategy, and engineering teams to communicate product and user requirements, and technology specifications.  

Having been a member of the REDCOM family for over 30 years and also being the son of one of REDCOM’s original founders, John recognizes the keys to REDCOM’s success as a communications solution provider and is fully committed to continuing that success into the future.  

When John isn’t at the office he enjoys spending time with his family, riding motorcycles, playing multiple instruments, and has been in multiple local bands.
