REDCOM Laboratories, Inc., a leading supplier of the world’s most reliable and secure communication solutions, is excited to announce that Mike Sweeney (Col., USMC, Ret.) has been promoted to Vice President of Government Strategy. Mike will lead the REDCOM Government team and all business development efforts with the Department of Defense and government agencies.

We have a great product roadmap ahead that will allow us to solve some truly unique challenges for our customers,” said Mike Sweeney. “While my concentration will primarily be on hardened communications solutions that help our armed forces to sustain operations, it’s important to realize that these same solutions are relevant in the enterprise sector as well. Any organization with critical communications needs — including banks, hospitals, and emergency responders — can benefit from REDCOM technology.”
Mike Sweeney joined REDCOM in 2017, initially serving as the Director of Strategy. Prior to joining the REDCOM team, Mike had a distinguished career with the US Marine Corps. He served in a variety of command and staff positions such as Commanding Officer, Fox Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, Paris Island, SC; Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, CA; Commanding Officer, 8th Communication Battalion, Camp Lejeune, NC; Joint Operations Chief, J3, U.S. European Command; Commanding Officer, II Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, Camp Lejeune, NC; and Chief of Staff, Marine Forces Pacific.
Mike Sweeney has a Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School, a Master’s in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College, and a Master’s in Business Administration from National University. He also graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Degree in Design Engineering and was commissioned as a 2ndLieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps in May of 1988.
His military awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit x3, Bronze Star, and many other awards and citations.
Mike is also an avid athlete, who played Division IA College Football, and coached soccer and football teams mentoring young men and woman in the art of being scholar athletes. He is happily married to his wife Anne-Marie Sweeney, and together they have one daughter and one son.
